Assemblage
The assemblage is a three-dimensional version of a collage, which combines elements that stand in/out of a defined bedding, or are independently placed in space. The glued-together components deliver a meaningful graphic narrative, and at the same time enriches the material value of the surface with various formations and textures. The essence is not all about the connection – it also deals with the importance of what is separated, not glued; the tear is just as important as the connection. I am deeply moved by the choice of materials, some of which, in their independence and in their original context, were opposed to each other… It is the unique relationship that has formed between them and within the collage/assemblage/object created that tells a new story – a story that does not strive to be a perfect and homogeneous whole.
